ABOUT ME
Katherine Todd

One of my favorite books from my undergrad days is On Writing Well by William Zinsser. This book opened my eyes to the splendor of nonfiction and challenged me to find the beauty in a well-turned phrase marked by precision and clarity. My formal training has been devoted to English education and, in particular, writing. I graduated with a BA degree in English and education from Clearwater Christian College, an MA degree in English education from the University of South Florida, and an EdD in curriculum and instruction from Liberty University. My doctoral dissertation focused on the writing self-efficacy of adolescents.
Although I started my career as a high school English teacher in 1998, my foray into editing began 10 years later when I assisted my uncle in formatting and proofreading his dissertation for a PhD in theology. I discovered that I love walking alongside doctoral candidates on their dissertation journeys and celebrating with them as they cross the finish line. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from Liberty, William Carey University, Pepperdine, the London School of Theology, Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Baptist Bible Seminary, and The Master's Seminary, utilizing my expertise in APA, Chicago/Turabian, and MS Word to help them produce quality dissertations.
editing services
Proposals: $2.50 per page (APA edit) / $4.00 per page (full edit)
I prefer to edit completed projects and dissertations. However, if I have openings, I will consider editing requests for proposals on a case-by-case basis. Please note, however, that I do not edit proposals during the 2 months leading up to spring, summer, and fall graduation (April/May; July/August; November/December), since these months are specifically reserved for students who require a final edit to graduate.

Since these projects are works-in-progress, I offer two services:
-
APA edit ($2.50 per page): This is a formatting edit in which I will edit the proposal for compliance with the dissertation manual and APA, checking in-text citations, APA headings, Table of Contents, and references. This does not include proofreading the paper for grammar, spelling, punctuation, or mechanics.
-
Full edit ($4.00 per page): This includes a 2-phase edit with a review for compliance with the dissertation manual and APA and a thorough review of all grammar, spelling, punctuation, and mechanics.
Capstone/Applied Research Projects: $4.00 per page
For Liberty SOE students who have completed their capstone or applied research project. I charge $4.00 per page which includes two edits using Track Changes in MS Word: an initial reading to check the formatting of references and compliance with the requisite style manual and a second reading to edit for spelling, grammar, and mechanics.
Dissertations (APA): $3.50* per page
For students who have completed their EdD or PhD dissertation and need an APA/copy edit before final submission. I charge $3.50 per page which includes two edits using Track Changes in MS Word: an initial reading to check the formatting of references and compliance with the requisite style manual and a second reading to edit for spelling, grammar, and mechanics. *EdD and PhD students who are writing a dissertation for my alma mater, Liberty's School of Education, receive a $0.50 per page discount (not applicable to proposals, applied research, or capstone projects).
Journal Articles: $0.02 per word
